Track FedEx Packages and Shipments
Track FedEx packages and shipments using the Ship, Rate and Track app. Track up to 30 shipments by entering individual tracking or reference numbers; see an estimated delivery window and use the tool to manage some aspects of the delivery process, like requesting a redirect or address change.
Your package has left a local facility and is on its way to your destination.
FedEx Tracking
Tracking is a feature that gives recipients and shippers visibility into a shipment’s status. It helps reduce customer service inquiries and allows businesses to better manage their shipping processes. For example, if a package is lost, tracking allows shippers to identify the location of the shipment and communicate with customers about the issue. This can improve overall customer satisfaction and loyalty.
FedEx offers online tracking for packages and freight shipments. The tool provides an estimated delivery time window and lets users customize views and reports. It also includes access to tracking documents and images. In addition to standard tracking, FedEx also offers InSight, which alerts shippers of critical events that impact their shipments.
InSight is available for FedEx Express, FedEx Freight, and FedEx Ground shipments. It enables you to monitor shipments by reference number, Bill of Lading, or Transportation Control Number (TCN). FedEx tracking numbers usually have 12 to 15 digits. However, there are some exceptions to this rule. For example, a door tag may contain a different format of numbers, such as DT12345678.
Third-party tracking solutions offer many advantages over traditional FedEx tools. They typically support hundreds of carriers globally, overcoming the limitation of FedEx’s API. They also offer a customizable dashboard and reporting, which allows users to filter, sort, and export data. In addition, they provide a variety of features, such as automatic carrier detection and an enhanced user experience.
Notifications
The notifications feature lets you receive updates on the status of your shipment. For example, if your package is in transit or delivered, you will receive a notification with a date and time window. Depending on your package, you may also be able to request delivery rescheduling or hold it at a secure location for pickup. You can customize your settings and preferences to manage your notifications. You can also receive updates by email, text, or mobile app.
The trackfedex API is a versatile tool designed for developers who want to seamlessly incorporate FedEx tracking capabilities into their applications and websites. It offers real-time shipment updates, customizable alerts, and webhook integration to ensure that your customers are always up-to-date on their packages. It also allows you to customize the tracking interface, ensuring that your brand’s aesthetics are consistent with the customer experience.
To take control of your home deliveries, sign up for FedEx Delivery Manager. You’ll get notifications by email or text, along with the option to change your delivery date and time, request a safe drop, put your package on vacation hold, or pre-sign for it. You can even get a picture of where your driver left your package. The service is free, except for scheduling an exact delivery date and changing your address, which have fees ranging from $5 to $10.
Alerts
Track your shipments and receive alerts with the FedEx mobile app. Customize your alerts to monitor shipments that matter most to you, and get notifications about any changes in status. You can also customize a calendar view of your shipments. You can even choose to receive WEA (Wireless Emergency Alerts) text messages. WEA alerts are only transmitted when you have a prepaid service provider that has chosen to participate in the program.
Advanced Tracking offers one convenient place to monitor multiple accounts and packages, along with access to documents, images, and detailed status-tracking information. You can create and save customized views, and even nickname shipments for easy identification. You can also view shipments in list or calendar view, and export reports. You can also configure your dashboard to display only the data that is relevant to you.
If you’re concerned about a package that hasn’t been delivered, you can call your local FedEx office to find out its status. However, beware of scams, including those that may ask you to click on a link and print out a “postal receipt” to claim a lost parcel. This can result in identity theft and malware infections. To prevent these attacks, be sure to use a reputable tracking website and never share personal information with anyone. Also, check the status of a package regularly to avoid any delays.
History
The history feature enables you to view past FedEx shipments. You can use it to find proof of delivery, resolve customer inquiries and ensure that all your deliveries arrive at their destination on time. This is a vital tool for companies that depend on fast, reliable service to meet business goals and customer expectations.
By default, the Ship History tab displays your 30 most recent shipments. You can adjust the date range up to 90 days to see your shipments in more detail. The information displayed includes the date of shipment, the destination and the tracking number. You can also track a single shipment using its reference field. This includes both the 14-digit FedEx tracking number and Door Tag numbers.
Analyzing your shipping history enables you to pinpoint recurring problems such as missed deliveries or damaged packages. This insight allows you to improve your shipping practices and select more reliable shipping methods, resulting in improved delivery performance. It also helps you keep control of your shipping costs by identifying areas where you may be overspending. Keeping detailed shipping records can also help you negotiate better rates with FedEx and optimize your shipping volume. To get started, simply click the History tab in Ship Manager.
